The biology department provides many opportunities to catch a good presentation. In the fall and winter semesters, you can usually catch departmental seminars on Thursdays 3:30-4:30 pm in the 5th floor lounge, or come to a graduate student presentation 3:30-4:30 on Fridays during FISH .

Once a year, the graduate students also host the Lett Symposium , where graduate students in the biology department are invited to share their research in oral presentation or poster format.

Don't forget that once in a while a graduate student in the university finally wraps up their research, and the thesis defence is usually public, so don't be shy to come encourage a fellow student down the final stretch.
